Lee Caggiano, M.A., CCC-SLP
Board Recognized Specialist & Mentor in Fluency Disorders
is the Director of the Stuttering Therapy and Resource Center of Long Island and treats children, adolescents and adults who stutter. Lee is the mother of a son who stutters and is co-founder and Director of FRIENDS - the Association for Young People Who Stutter. She is committed to providing a high level of parent education and training and has developed and coordinated workshops for children who stutter, families and professionals for the past several years. She has presented at local and national conferences regarding the needs of young people who stutter and their families. Her presentations address effective stuttering treatment strategies, fostering self-esteem and goal setting. Lee serves as a consultant to many school districts as well as teaching the graduate level fluency courses at New York University, Queens College, and Long Island University-Post.
Steffi Schopick, M.A., CCC-SLP
is a speech-language pathologist and treats preschoolers, school age children and adolescents who stutter. She is a clinical supervisor at Queens College and co-facilitator of the Queens (NSA) teen chapter. Steffi has been a supervisor at University of Iowa (UI) SPEAKS Camp for Teens who Stutter for the past five years. She also coordinates and facilitates children’s workshops at the annual FRIENDS conventions. Steffi also developed and has coordinated the FRIENDS Graduate Student Training Program for the last several years. She is also an adjunct Lecturer at Queens College and Mercy College.
Caryn Herring, M.S., CCC-SLP
is a person who stutters and a speech-language pathologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults who stutter. Caryn also currently works at SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young and at The STAR Center. She graduated from Purdue University with a Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Caryn has presented at universities and conferences across the nation and has led National Stuttering Association local chapters in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York. Caryn has co-hosted the Stutter Talk podcast "B-Team" since July, 2010 and was also featured on the MTV documentary, "True Life-I Stutter."
